Back

I'm back in Colchester now. Got back last night, but was so tired I fell asleep at 10 pm. So, obviously I woke up at 7 something this morning. I've been unpacking, doing laundry and I've tried to tidy up a bit. I need to go to Tesco later today. It's supposedly open 24 hours, except for Sundays when it opens at 10 am, and closes at 4 pm.

Oh by the way, I've started watching a new Japanese drama, called Galileo. I watched the first episode this morning, and it was really good! I highly recommend it. It's about a female detective and a weird genius scientist who is obsessed with finding logical explanations to everything. He helps the detective solve weird cases. Anyway, it's really good!

England

I'm now only hours away from going back to England. It's sad. I would've wanted to stay a bit longer.

My flight leaves at 15.10, and arrives at 16.25, so I should be able to catch the 17.00 bus and be back in Colchester around 18.00.

I don't like flying, and I certainly don't like flying alone!

Flights

The sweet carefree days here in Västerås are coming to an end and I'm going back to England on Saturday. Back to Colchester, start work. Actually I'm a bit nervous about starting to work, but excited at the same time, so it's good nervous!

Anyway, the flight on Saturday included, I've been on 9 flight this year so far! That's in less than 6 months! Wow... Who would've thought..

And there are more flights to come! At least 6 more for sure! Having said that, I should add that I still haven't really gotten used to flying. I still find it a bit scary and uncomfortable. But I do admire some people. When we flew to Ireland, I was sitting next to a pregnant woman (it must have been at the beginning of her pregnancy, because I didn't notice at all! Anyway, the poor woman got morning sick during landing, so she couldn't go to the toilet. I felt sorry for her, must have been difficult for her. So I felt a bit stupid sitting there, not pregnant and not sick and still uncomfortable about flying.

Pro

Hehe, pro. I found this in Kvicksund.

Kvicksund

Here are some pictures I took from the car on the way to Kvicksund from Västerås.

Decisions

Who would've thought planning an itinerary could be so hard. Which way should be taken? How many days should be spent at each location? Luckily there is still 2 months left, so there is plenty of time to plan everything.

By the way, I was told that a 60L backpack is way too big, so I'm now considering a smaller one, maybe 50L.

75 days left! Woo!

Rudbeckianska gymnasiet

This is one of the buildings of my old school here in Västerås, before I moved to England to study at uni. The name of the school is Rudbeckianska gymnasiet, often called Rudbeck. It's a very beautiful school. It's very old too, actually the oldest upper secondary school in Sweden! It was built in 1623, so it's quite old. I miss it sometimes.

Cannons

The other day when I was walking around in Västerås, I saw some cannons that I have never seen before. I was told they've always been there, but I've never seen them!

View from train

I like Sweden, I think it's a very beautiful country. Here are some pictures I took from the train on the way back to Västerås from Stockholm.

Stockholm

More pictures from my trip to Stockholm yesterday.

Gamla Stan

One area of Stockholm that I particularly like is Gamla Stan, which when translated into English means something like the old town. It is the old part of Stockholm and very popular among tourists. It is a very beautiful area with narrow alleyways and lots of small, cute shops and cafeterias.

Stockholm again

Yesterday was the third day in a row that I went to Stockholm, the capital of Sweden. Here are some pictures I took.

Backpack

I need a good backpack for India. I'm thinking about this one:

It's an Everest Travel 60L. Should be able to hold enough, but I'm wondering if it is comfortable to carry around all the time.

Tickets and visa

I've done it now! I have finally booked tickets to India! I'm leaving 31 August and will be gone for three whole weeks. I'm so excited!!

We booked the tickets last night, and today we went to Stockholm to apply for visas at the Embassy of India. Mine would only take one day and I could go back during the afternoon to pick it up, which was very convenient.

Iih nervous

I'm a bit nervous now, because we've decided to book tickets to India tonight. That's it, once we book them then it's final.. We will actually be going to India!!

Wow..
I'm nervous.. In a good way, but still..

Stockholm

Today I went to Stockholm, which is the capital of Sweden. It takes just over one hour to drive there from Västerås, my hometown. I like Stockholm, it's a very beautiful and nice city.

Here are some pictures from the car, and from Stockholm.

Wicklow Mountains

The second day, we decided to go on a one-day tour to the beautiful Wicklow Mountains. It wasn't very far from Dublin, but only 40 minutes outside Dublin there were no houses, no people and no cars. The only vehicle we saw was another couch with tourists taking a day trip to Wicklow Mountains.

It was very beautiful there!

The Georgian doors of Dublin

Dublin is famous for its Georgian doors in all sorts of colours.
